What is DTM?

The DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters) is the most popular international touring car series worldwide. The cars are based on the street version of the Mercedes-AMG C 63 but are mechanically different from production models in several ways.

Founded in 1984, the series was previously called “German Production Car Championship” but developed into a worldwide series called “International Touring Car Championship”. 1996 saw the temporary end of the DTM before it successfully came back in 2000.

Three of the most successful German manufacturers compete in the series – Mercedes-Benz Audi and BMW . With its outstanding reputation as the most spectacular and popular touring car series, the DTM attracts lots of former F1 drivers, such as Mika Häkkinen, David Coulthard and Jean Alesi in the past seasons, currently Paul di Resta, and Timo Glock are driving in the DTM.
