Qualifying
Maciej secured a solid eight place, just 0.116s away from the front row. He was provisionally fourth at the end of the second flying laps, two positions ahead of Taito. Although they had strong pace, the ART Grand Prix drivers were unable to improve, leaving the Japanese driver in 16th. As for Kanato, he narrowly missed out on pole position for the Sprint race reverse grid, qualifying 13th.
Sprint Race
After several hard-fought battles, Maciej scored valuable points with sixth place while gathering important information and confidence ahead of Sunday’s Feature race. Following average starts, Kanato and Taito found themselves trapped in a DRS train. Despite their best efforts, neither was able to break free and they finished 16th and 18th respectively.
Feature Race
Even with heavy traffic in the opening laps and fierce defending from several rivals, Maciej came out on top in numerous wheel-to-wheel battles to claim his maiden Formula 3 podium, crossing the line in third place. Post-race penalties promoted him to victory, making him only the second Polish driver in history to win a Formula 3 race. He also set the second-fastest lap of the race. As a result, he climbed from 16th to 6th in the Drivers’ Championship standings. Kanato’s determination was rewarded with 8 points finish in sixth place. Taito, due to technical issues, crossed the line in 25th position.
Maciej GLADYSZ
“What an amazing feeling ! I can’t thank the team enough for their support and hard work despite several difficult weekends. The Sprint race was already really exciting, with plenty of battles and strong pace from our side. But Sunday topped everything! It wasn’t easy because I was struggling with graining towards the end of the race, but I took every opportunity that came my way during a completely crazy final lap. I hope we can carry this momentum into another legendary venue, Spa, in two weeks’ time.”
Sébastien PHILIPPE
“Maciej produced his strongest weekend of the season at one of the most demanding circuits on the calendar, despite never having raced there before, which says a great deal about his potential. Congratulations to him and to the entire team on this outstanding win. His pace was among the very best in both races, and he delivered a faultless performance despite the immense pressure created by intense wheel-to-wheel battles, tyre management and multiple Safety Car periods. Kanato never gave up and was rewarded with valuable points that will certainly boost his confidence. Taito was unfortunate throughout the Silverstone weekend, and I hope he will be back where he belongs, fighting at the front, as soon as we arrive at Belgium.”
