F3 BUDAPEST – Round 07

Qualifying

Several red flags during the Free Practice session had a significant impact on qualifying preparations. Kanato score his best career qualifying result classified 12h. With Maciej 11th, both drivers secured an all-ART front row for Sprint Race.
Taito had his fastest lap deleted for exceeding track limits and was forced to start both races from 18th on the grid.

Sprint Race

Starting in pole position, Kanato took the lead at the start, expertly managing both the mental pressure and tyre degradation. He held onto it until mid-race, when tyre degradation began to take its toll. Finishing 2nd for his first podium finish, he offers 9 points to the team.
Maciej made a strong start in front of his many Polish fans there, but was hit by another driver (who was penalized for the incident), forcing him to retire on the opening lap.
Taito pushed hard to recover positions and crossed the finish line in 14th place.

Feature Race

Tough weekend for Maciej as he was once again caught up in an incident through no fault of his own and retired on the opening lap.
Kanato drove an opportunistic race that brought him up to eighth place before a technical issue forced him to retire.
Taito experienced a similar race to the previous day, with safety car interruptions and a DRS train limiting his progress, eventually finishing 13th.

Kanato LE

“Going into the race, we knew the opening lap would be crucial, and I was fortunate to avoid the incidents at the start of the Sprint. This first Formula 3 podium is a reward for all the hard work put in by both myself and the entire team. On Sunday, I was pleased with the car’s performance as was closing in on a strong points finish.”

Sébastien Philippe

“Kanato delivered a brilliant Sprint Race, Maciej was once again fast and incisive, and Taito showed that he would not be discouraged. All of this confirms that the team is moving in the right direction.”
