ART Grand Prix is pleased to announce that Matteo Giaccardi, an 18-year-old Monegasque driver, will compete with the team in the Formula Regional European Championship (FREC) and the Formula Regional Middle East Trophy (FRME).
After competing in the French Formula 4 Championship, Matteo completed a solid season marked by continuous learning and progress. The young Monegasque claimed victory in one of the three races at the final round of the championship in Le Mans, closing the season just outside the top ten and demonstrating competitive race pace throughout the year.
Stepping up to Formula Regional represents an important stage in Matteo’s development. The 2026 FREC and FRMEC programmes will allow him to gain experience in a highly competitive environment, continue his learning curve, and focus on delivering consistent performances across different circuits and conditions.
Sébastien PHILIPPE – Team Principal
“Matteo is at an important point in his development. He has shown encouraging progress in Formula 4 and now needs to take this next step in Formula Regional. The objective will be to keep learning, build experience, and work consistently with the team to move forward throughout the season.”
Matteo GIACCARDI
“I’m really proud to be part of ART Grand Prix for the 2026 Formula Regional Championship. My main target this season is to learn and improve all year long !”
