Qualifying
On the abrasive Montmeló circuit, tyre management was crucial, with drivers effectively having just one flying lap available per set of tyres. Tasanapol made the most of his final run, climbing from 17th to 10th on the timesheets. Meanwhile, Kush’s challenge for pole position was cut short by a red flag, dropping him to ninth after showing the pace to fight for the front row.
Sprint Race
Kush converted a superb start into a commanding lights-to-flag victory, eventually crossing the finish line more than seven seconds clear of the field. Tasanapol also delivered a strong performance, narrowly missing out on his first points finish (P9).
Feature Race
The team split strategies for the Feature Race, with Kush starting on the hard compound and Tasanapol opting for soft tyres. The strategy worked well for Kush, whose late-race pace enabled him to charge from the back of the field after his pit stop to secure ninth place at the chequered flag. Tasanapol showed encouraging pace throughout the race, but significant tyre degradation in the closing laps left him outside the points in 12th position.
Kush MAINI
“Putting together the perfect lap is always challenging around such a technical circuit, and interruptions only make things more unpredictable. This victory is thoroughly deserved and a great reward for the team after the disappointment of Monaco. The Feature Race strategy also worked very well, congratulations to everyone. The most encouraging aspect of the weekend was our competitiveness in every condition, particularly our race pace and tyre management.”
Sébastien PHILIPPE
“Kush delivered an outstanding Sprint Race, taking the lead at the start, setting the fastest lap and securing his second win of the season. Tas also enjoyed a strong weekend, showing good pace and continuing the progress he has made since the start of the year. Kush maximized the strategy and rewarded the team with another valuable points finish.”
