First race weekend in Melbourne completed for our F2 team

For the first time this season, the drivers qualified in the rain, but that did not prevent Théo and Victor from fighting for pole position which they only missed on in the final moments.

  • Sprint race:

On a dry but green track, after being washed by an earlier downpour, our two drivers took the start on soft tyres. Victor was 5th on the first lap, Théo 11th

• Taking advantage of a safety car and the onset of more rain, Théo and Victor put on rain tyres. But a long neutralization saw the end of the downpour before their strategy could make a difference.

• Therefore, on the restart, Théo and Victor didn’t have the weapons to defend themselves against their rivals, who were on slick tyres, leaving them to finish outside the points.

  • Feature race:

• Théo and Victor completed a good first stint on soft tyres. They were 2nd and 3rd during the first neutralization which triggered their pit stop at quarter of race distance.

• They were always racing in the leading pack, Théo in 2nd, Victor 4th with just two laps to go, behind the second safety car.

• On the re-start, Victor touched an opponent and swerved onto the grass which caused him to fall to the back of the pack. Théo retained his 2nd place.
